Buenos Aires can be considered – according to third parties – the city that never sleeps and the city with the longest party in the world. Saturday 6th was no exception: the city vibrated and became the epicenter of electronic music when the French DJ and producer, David Guetta, He made the earth tremble in Buenos Aires with his show “Monolith”.
The event took place in a Movistar Arena full of fans of all ages who, for almost two hours, retraced Guetta’s 20-year career on the music scene.
“He and his music are incredible. It’s a journey. It’s impossible not to know the themes. They are pure successes. One behind the other. We love you, David,” said a fan named Agustín minutes before the lights went out and the set began.
“I love coming to see it. He is an artist who continually surprises you. I had the opportunity to see him in Europe and this is the second time I came to his show in Buenos Aires,” said another follower, Daniela.
“They’re all crazy”
At 9.45pm the screens turned on, laser lights began to rotate throughout the stadium and the audience sang the classic “Olé, olé, olé, David… David”. A few seconds later, on one side of the stage, The electronic music icon appeared dressed in black and recorded the crowd’s euphoria with his cell phone.
Already positioned in front of his console, Guetta took advantage of the situation and launched a phrase that increased the euphoria: “Argentina has the best audience in the world. “They’re all crazy,” he said.
The staging of the show combined light displays, immersive displays with images of color and nature that adapt and match every sound. The first song that was played was I’m fine (blue)one of their latest releases.
During the first forty minutes, the unmistakable style of the French DJ blew up the Movistar Arena: he unleashed all his world-famous hits one after another. There have been collaborations with Lady Gaga, Snoop Dog, John Legend, Rihanna and NIcki Minaj, among many others.
Still euphoric, mid-set, the DJ warned his audience: “Now we’re going to get a little darker.” And a musical moment specially prepared for those who love the essence of electronic music has begun.
A global reference
From the classic hits that have marked his career to the latest releases that dominate the charts, Guetta has demonstrated why he is considered one of the leaders of electronic music worldwide.
“Twenty years ago I was playing for five or six people and look now. I’m very grateful that they are here, 20 years later. I don’t want to leave. They are the best audience in the world. I asked my manager to play half an hour more than usual. And she said yes. “Argentina, are you ready to continue celebrating?” she threw excitedly.
He obeyed. Guetta played more than expected for his audience, heterogeneous in age: from twenty-year-olds who saw him for the first time to married couples in their fifties. All with a common denominator: They knew each of their hits, they sang and danced until almost midnight.
