Elvis Presley biopic hits theaters July 14
The biopic of Elvis Presley nor debuted in theaters and the performance of Austin Butler how Rock king is already being hailed. In a post made on its official Facebook page, Priscilla Presley, the artist’s widow, revealed that she saw the film at a special screening held by Warner Bros. and approved the result of the project.
“This is a story about Elvis’ relationship with Colonel Tom Parker [empresário do músico]. It’s a true story, and told in a brilliantly creative way that only Baz [Luhrmann, diretor]with his unique artistic way, could have delivered,” she wrote.
“Austin Butler, who plays Elvis, is exceptional,” she said. “In the middle of the movie, Jerry [Shcilling, ex-empresário de Elvis] and I looked at each other and said, ‘Wow!.’ Bravo to him! He knew he had a big mission, and he was very nervous about this role. I can imagine.”
In her text, Priscilla also praised the performance of Tom Hanks as colonel Tom ParkerElvis’ manager: “What a great character he was. There were two sides to the Colonel and we witnessed both. The story, as we all know, does not have a happy ending. But I think the film will make you understand Elvis’ journey better, through the lens of a director who put his heart and soul into it.”
“Elvis” hits Brazilian theaters on July 14.
