Cahiers du Cinemathe prestigious film magazine founded in 1951, has chosen Argentine cinema Lauquen train as the best of 2023.

It is the first time that this legendary publication has placed a Latin American film at the top of its list.

About the movie

The film began its international tour at the Venice Film Festival in 2022 and continued at festivals such as NYFF, San Sebastian Film Festival and Viennale. He was recognized as the best at the Latin American level in the 37th. edition of the Mar del Plata Film Festival.

In February 2023 it debuted in an unconventional way in the Leopoldo Lugones and Malba theatres. It remained on the bill for more than six months.a nice result.

The production of Trenque Lauquen was entrusted to the filmmaking group El Pampero Cine (responsible for films such as Extraordinary Stories, Castro, The Match Seller AND The flower) with a cast led by Laura Paredes, Ezequiel Pierri, Rafael Spregelburd, Elisa Carricajo, Juliana Muras, Cecilia Rainero and Verónica Llinás.

The film is divided into two parts of two hours each, with an intermission in betweenand combines different genres ranging from romantic comedy to fantasy and crime drama.
