To commemorate the wedding anniversary of the current kings of the Netherlands, Willem-Alexander and Máxima Zorreguietathe official trailer of Maximumthe new series starring Delfina Chaves, which will debut on April 20th.
At the end of last year we already had a preview production based on real events, which will tell the story of Argentina becoming queen of Europe. All this, from Máxima’s point of view, highlighting her determination, her ambition and her struggle to find her identity.
The preview that Delfina Chaves shared on her Instagram account, as anticipated in the teaser, is in English, with Dutch subtitles. This is because the series is produced by the Dutch production company Millstreet Films. However, has some scenes in Spanish to help the plausibility of the plot.
According to the official synopsis, published on the production company’s website, the series follows the life of Queen Máxima Zorreguieta, from her early years in Argentina and then in New York, until she became queen of the Netherlands.
“The series follows Máxima as she navigates her relationship with the Dutch Crown Prince and her rise to the top, facing challenges along the way, including controversy over her father Jorge’s political career during the Videla regime,” the official description states.
The production is based on Maxima Zorreguieta. Homelandthe successful book by the Dutch journalist and writer Marcia Luyten. Filming has already finished and took place in several countries, including Argentina, the United States, Belgium, Spain and, of course, the Netherlands.
Delfi Chaves, another royal
At the beginning of the trailer we see the 27-year-old Argentine actress with impeccable characterization, saying a few lines in Dutch. Next we are shown Máxima’s childhood, told in her voice in worn out de Chaves (now, in English).
Seconds later, we cut to adult Máxima, taking her first steps in New York, where she meets Prince William. And there are some images of the first meeting between Zorreguieta and the monarch, who will be played by Dutch actor Martijn Lakemeier.
In this first preview they don’t just have a love story left. They also include images of the challenges Máxima faced as she took her first steps into the world of royalty, eventually becoming queen.
“They say your father won’t be allowed to come to the wedding.”, is the phrase that Prince William says, when the tone of the trailer changes. We see a stressed Máxima, hounded by the press, and challenging limits to get ahead. “To hell with politics,” Chaves’ character shouts, after slamming the door.
The series he will present six episodes of 50 minutes eachwill premiere on April 20 on the Dutch streaming platform, Videoland. It is not known which platform it will launch on in Latin America, although some versions lean towards Star+.
