I said ‘well, I’ll get organized and travel’. I got a ticket for four or five days later,” Maxi began to recall.

And then he detailed the communication with Wanda that caused him to bring forward the trip. “The next day he calls me and says ‘please come now, I need you here.’ I had to change my ticket and I traveled from one day to the next,” said Maxi, underlining the support he received at that time from his current partner, the Swedish model Daniela Christiansson, mother of his youngest daughter, Elle.

Then, the former footballer recalled the birth of his firstborn, Valentino. “Wanda’s seventh month of pregnancy was in Moscow. In the seventh month, a doctor arrives, one of those you see in films, in the times of communism, who says ‘the baby can’t be born here, they have to go to hospital'” . .’ And when we went to the hospital Wanda ran away, she ran away. She said ‘I’m not giving birth here or I’m crazy’.”

“So he got on a plane and I stayed there. In Russia it was -35 degrees. And one night my mother called me and said ‘my blood pressure dropped a little’. And I said ‘I take flight’. ‘ The president didn’t give me permission. I came anyway, then I received a significant fine. I arrived in Ezeiza and my brother took me straight to the hospital. If I arrived an hour later Valentino would be born and I would miss him. I finally arrived and was at birth. Later, when I returned to Russia, they made me pay for it,” he recalled the birth of his eldest son, who currently lives in Argentina and is a member of River’s youth team.
