The remake of Street house (The tough one) will have some script changes compared to the original. However, it seems that no amount of change will separate the film from the legacy left by the original star Street house: Patrick Swayze. And it’s something that the new protagonist, Jake Gyllenhaalhe understands very well.
In a recent post on his personal Instagram account, Gyllenhaal paid tribute to Swayze and recalled the time they spent working together on Donnie Darkoan American film produced in 2000 and released in 2001. He recalled Swayze’s generosity as a mentor and expressed hope that the late actor will, somewhere, enjoy the new version of Street house.
“I was thinking about the time I worked with Patrick and seeing this great man again in Street house original and in many other films. “I never stopped being a fan of him,” Gyllenhaal wrote.
“He was very talented and I still have a lot of respect and admiration for what he presented to the world. I will never forget her kindness to me when I was starting out. She didn’t have to take time, but she always did…”
The new version of was published on March 21st The tough oneabout that 80’s movie (Street houseof 1989) where Swayze, always an actor of Ghost, the shadow of lovehe put himself in the shoes of a tough guy who worked as a security guard.
This version is advertised as “full of adrenaline” and with some changes: here it is a former UFC fighter (Gyllenhaal), who agrees to take care of security at a drinking establishment located on the road to the Florida Keys.
Can Gyllenhaal be as charming as Patrick Swayze?
Directed by Doug Liman (Mr. and Mrs. Smith). For Swayze fans, the challenge will be to see whether Gyllenhaal can match the charm of his predecessor, “an incomparable artist.”
The realization, according to specialized media IndieWire, gets involved in a legal dispute: the original screenwriter of Street houseR. Lance Hill, sued Amazon for using artificial intelligence to hastily end the film before the rights to the original were fully approved
For his roles in Dirty dancing and above all inside Ghosttrue classics of commercial cinema, Swayze was catapulted to a fame that transcended him beyond death.
Overwhelmed by popularity and the nickname of sex symbol, Swayze lived his critical period by taking refuge in alcohol. “I got stupid and drank too much. Trying to understand what it meant to be a real human being and living with that level of fame was difficult for me,” he said.
His life took an unexpected turn in 2008. After a midnight toast on New Year’s Eve, he felt “something burning inside his body” when he took a sip of champagne. “There was nothing strange about me except that burning sensation,” emphasized the actor, who at that time had already been losing weight for some time and suffered from repeated indigestion.
In January of that year he was diagnosed with advanced (grade 5) pancreatic cancer after undergoing a biopsy. The actor not only underwent emergency surgery to remove part of his cancer-ridden stomach and extensive chemotherapy sessions. He also tried experimental treatments that experts said were only 5 percent effective.
Patrick Swayze died on September 14, 2009 at the age of 57. His body was cremated after his funeral and the ashes were taken to his ranch in the state of New Mexico.
