Passion. If we had to define with just one word what it generates Luis Miguel, what awakens and moves his fans is this, passion. And it doesn’t matter where it is generated: it can be a closed stadium like the Movistar Arena, or an open one like the Polo Field. Or it could be a very elegant gala dinner at La Rural, like the one that took place this Tuesday, March 5, with 2,200 people dressed up for the big party, paying a minimum of 1,200,000 pesos each.

Passion doesn’t understand reasons, you know. That’s why when you arrive at La Rural, it’s not surprising to see hundreds of fans outside – those you know don’t have tickets and won’t get in – with hope painted on their faces, singing Luis Miguel songs in the stadium. upper part of their lungs. take photos to flood the networks and try to know who that famous person is who passed quickly and in a sequined dress to see her idol.

A rich welcome upon arrival, starter, main course and dessert (three-course menu from Faena catering, with octopus carpaccio, Patagonian meats with port and malbec sauce and seasonal vegetables) plus free alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.

A real party, which could be a fifteenth or a wedding, given the frills of those present, but which one it gives up the carioca carnival and cumbia and focuses on a singer in his best momentwith a powerful, large band and a cascade of hits that stand the test of time very well.

At 10.13pm Luis Miguel enters the scene. Maybe you don’t love me, Love love love, Gentle. Start well at the top and he won’t leave for just over an hour and a half of the concert. The bracelets they gave us at the entrance change color with the lights of the scene.

Some famous faces (Guillermo Coppola, Georgina Barbarossa, Angela Torres and Rusherking who arrive together and are talked about) and many anonymous people who have paid what they have paid and who want to enjoy a night that must be unforgettable for them.

One shot after another

Guilty or not, I need you, Until you forget me, Give me. Luis Miguel sings and makes everyone sing. A drone flies over the environment. At first we fear him, he flies low. After a while, he is one of us and even the singer has time to take it, film himself while singing – we all see it on the big screens – and film the audience. Then she lets him continue flying.

Pass the mixture of boleros (Under the table, I don’t know about you, How I loved you, Just onceWe are a couple? All and nothing, We) AND couples kiss and sing while looking into each other’s eyes. It’s love and fun. There is no ironic consumption. There is a singer who gives everything (and how much he has) and people who he receives.

Luis Miguel allows himself some luxuries. Sing smile screen via with Michael Jackson AND Fly with Me with Frank Sinatra. The band – two keyboards, bass, guitar, drums, three backing vocalists and a five-member horn section – sounds perfect, without playback. It may be Las Vegas, but it’s Plaza Italia.

The Sun King brings a dozen mariachis, there is a tribute to Mexico and he plays The bikini. After a while everyone shouts again: “Then I’ll turn around!” But Nobody turns around, everyone faces the stage.

Zero demagogy

Luis Miguel didn’t say goodnight to us when he arrived nor will he tell us when he leaves, after a mix-up that goes from The unconditional TO You can go now, The girl in the blue bikini, Isabella AND When the sun warms.

The supreme gesture towards the public is to grab a bouquet of white flowers and touch your heart in the face of so much affection. It’s the least demagogic thing there is. But he sings from start to finish, he is in tune with the audience and with his group, which responds to the singer’s slightest gesture.

Some girls (and not so girls) are already moshing. Others go around their husbands. Others, many, are on chairs and no one would dare let them down. Many have also taken off their shoes and are dancing barefoot.

One gets the impression that Luis Miguel (who will sing at the Campo de Polo on March 6, 8 and 9 and in Córdoba on the 14th) would give his all even if we were at a village dance, with a dirt floor. That for him what matters are the songs and that he is far from the star who constantly complained about the sound. Enjoy your show. It’s genuine.

And spoiler alert: it’s not a double.
