World-class and in no way inferior to the best electronic parties in the world. This is how Afterlife Buenos Aires 2024 was defined by those who attended the two presentations of the musical event created by the Italian DJ duo Tale Of Us on 9 and 10 March.
Punta Carrasco was the site chosen as the setting one of the most famous electronic music festivals in the world -which was originally supposed to start on Friday 8th, but due to weather conditions the first date had to be rescheduled for Sunday 10th-.
The afterlife brought to the country ua highly immersive audiovisual proposal which combines three-dimensional effects and a narrative that transcends reality.
The final result? An imaginary universe told through the screens that the public followed to the rhythm of the guest DJs.
A lineup that exploded expectations
Punta Carrasco opened its doors on Saturday at 9pm without an orange alert for rain and thunderstorms and with completely clear skies.
The party kicked off with sets from Hunter/Game and Recondite, followed by a special hour and ten performance from Anyma, Matteo Milleri’s solo project.
For his part, Kevin de Vries took care of making the audience vibrate and preparing everything for the beginning and end of the evening. Finally, the duo Tale of Us took to the stage to close the event a set that lasted until five in the morninghe alternated different climates, rhythms and subgenres that his fans defined as “epic”.
What happened on Sunday
The next day, the day started at 4pm with the doors opening. Despite the clouds and intense humidity, the Costanera complex was full and the first to climb into the cabin was Ubbah. Then it was the turn of 7.26pm, Kevin De Vries and Mrak, in charge of bringing the energy to the maximum to receive the final touch of the evening.
At 10.30pm it was the great moment – for the second consecutive evening – of Tale Of Us: Matteo Milleri and Carmine Conte, the creators of Afterlife, made everyone dance to the rhythm of their unmistakable “progressive”.
“The music, the scenography, the energy of the people. There are no events like this in Argentina”, commented one of the participants. “It’s my first time coming and I really liked it,” was the opinion of another.
The two presentations of Afterlife 2024 in Argentina were a resounding success. Tickets sold out within minutes of going on sale. The electronic music festival proved to be much more than a big party: it connected attendees through music and created a global community of fans.
