The journalist, writer and presenter has died at the age of 65 Jorge Dorio, according to what was reported on social networks by those close to him. He died this morning of cardiac arrest. He was the host of 678 and also remembered for his years together with Alejandro Dolina in Revenge Will Be Terrible, among other things.

Intubated, he was transferred to Trenque Lauquen, where two stents were placed. After a few days he managed to get off the respirator, they moved him to an apartment and he waited a few days to be transferred to Buenos Aires. But in the early hours of this Wednesday he had a heart attack again and this time he couldn’t resist.

Dorio has hosted radio and television broadcasts since the early 1980s. On TV he was part of cycles such as Badía y Compañía, El Monitor Argentino, Gran Hermano and 678, while on the radio he participated for many years in La Revenge Sera Terrible, alongside Dolina, as before in Sueños de una noche de Belgrano, in the years of democratic recovery.

In writing, Dorio dealt with journalism in newspapers and magazines, directed the literary publication Babel, and also published the books La verba infamada (Ediciones Juvenilia) and Laevolucion de Octubre (Editorial Las Cuarenta), a saga of poems in which he confided – he knew bringing together “two persistent and inalienable passions”, for “historical narrative from the perspective of the national movement” and “the rigorous writing of poetry”.

Dorio had been one of the 500 workers whose contracts were not renewed by Radio Nacional with the change of government.

News in development.
