As part of the initiatives within the framework of “The Fourth of May”, the production company Lucasfilm celebrates the 25th anniversary of the Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace with its re-release in theaters on May 4th.
That’s why it was done a five-minute light show at the Empire State Building in New York inspired by Star Wars. It featured favorite scenes, with a focus on villains like Darth Vader, Emperor Palpatine, Stormtroopers, and more.
The show was synchronized with The Imperial March (Darth Vader Theme) by John Williams. Also, the actor Hayden Christensenwho plays Darth Vader, one of the most recognized antagonists of the saga, was invited to the ceremony that preceded the show.
Christensen recently returned to the franchise as Anakin Skywalker in the Disney+ series Obi-Wan Kenobi AND Ahsoka. At the Empire State Building he was accompanied by his alter ego, Darth Vader, and a squad of Stormtroopers.
The beginning of the celebrations
The actor he pressed a large ceremonial switch to turn the red lights on the top of the building Sith red and officially begin the festivities.
Before doing so, he told the assembled media that it was an honor to represent the franchise, adding: “Star WarsIt’s been a very important part of my life, so it’s a real pleasure to be here and see this incredible show. What will they wear?”
The event will also feature a villain-themed showcase Star Wars on Fifth Avenue, a giant Darth Vader Funko in the 86th floor observatory, and a LEGO exhibit Star Wars for visitors, among other fun activities.
As a bonus, they screened on Friday Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Backon the facade of the emblematic building in the heart of Manhattan.
