In the program Mariana’s diary (América TV, Monday to Friday at 12.30pm) showed images of Cacho Garayhe is detained in a prison in the province of Mendoza following a complaint lodged by his wife Verónica Macías.

The well-known comedian is detained for the crime of aggravated menacing, illegal possession of a firearm for civilian use, sexual abuse with carnal access, aggravated deprivation of liberty and disobedience of a court order.

In the series hosted by Mariana Fabbiani they shared the comedian’s images and talked about hers delicate state of health.

As reported, Garay has lost more than 20 pounds and has trouble walking.

The comedian entered the penitentiary weighing 102 kilos and now It weighs less than 80 kilos.

“He has prostate cancer, cardiac, neurological, trauma and vision problems. He lost 80% of his sight. They even say that he eats little…”, stated the journalist Mariano Yezze.

And the journalist Martín Candalaft added on the comedian’s detention situation: “Garay is in the San Felipe prison, in Mendoza. He is housed in pavilion 1A, which can accommodate 80 people, but there are 160 people housed. The prison is overcrowded. AND His cell houses six people, but there are three beds. “Three on the floor, three in the bed, take turns.”

For this reason, Garay’s lawyer, Daniel Romero, asked that his client be allowed to serve house arrest. “They want him to be evaluated by doctors. It’s part of a strategy, to see his poor condition,” Candalaft added.

“His health is very bad. His colleagues give him a bed to sleep in and he gives motivational speeches to young people,” Yezze added.

Garay was under house arrest, but in July 2023 judge Federico Martínez revoked the benefit because Garay’s ex-partner received a phone call and during it only ambient noise could be heard, so the situation was interpreted as intimidation towards the woman .

After the complaint was filed, it was proven that the communication had taken place from the home of the comedian’s sister.

The prosecutor’s office understood that with this act Garay violated the approach ban imposed on him by justice and accused him of disobedience.
