-How it feels to star in the prequel to such an important film for the horror genre The prophecy?

-It’s fascinating. Really. I’m a big fan of the genre. Terror is what made me fall in love with cinema. When I started acting, my dream was to star in a horror film. And being in one of these dimensions, which is also part of the legacy of The prophecy, which is kind of the pinnacle of horror, feels really special. I am very happy and grateful that they allowed me to do this.

Horror enthusiast

-Clothes The prophecy as inspiration for your character before you start filming?

-I saw her for the first time when I was very young. Now I saw it again, just before shooting the film. I watched it several times actually, but only because I wanted to keep it fresh in my mind and re-familiarize myself with some of the characters. And I was also getting excited because I was going to make this movie.

-Do you believe in supernatural things?

-Actually yes, since I was a child, when my mother told me stories of strange things that happened. I also think she might be psychic. Many times I have dreams that come true. Sometimes I really think I can predict the future. If anyone wants to call me, maybe I can help them with lottery numbers or something.

-Your projects are always in terror, aren’t you afraid that the industry will pigeonhole you into that place?

-It’s a good question, because I had never thought about it. I’m not really afraid of that happening, because I don’t always play the same character in horror films. In this genre there is a lot to do and a lot of stories to tell. Likewise I like the idea of becoming a “scream queen”. It’s fine with me, but I’m quite tolerant. So anyone who wants to hire me for anything, I’m willing to try.

Behind the camera

-Is it true that strange things happen on the sets of horror films or is it more something that lives in the popular imagination?

-In general it’s a normal set, we’re all behind the scenes. We’re seeing how the final product and effects are made, seeing all things unmasked. Actually, the people who play the scariest characters are the most fascinating, and you see them having tea with their one-piece swimsuit on the side. And that definitely takes away some tension.

-Is it emotionally taxing to play these types of characters?

-It really can be. It depends on who you have around and who is there to pick you up at the end of the day. There were some scenes where it was impossible not to get emotionally carried away, you need that. Oddly enough, for me it always ends up being the most fascinating part, because you get to tap into emotions that maybe you’ve never dealt with before. Sometimes it’s nice to have that kind of release, that has nothing to do with who you are and what’s really going on in your life and in the world. It’s quite cathartic.

-This film was directed by director Arkasha Stevenson, do you think she tries to change the typical role of women in horror?

-Yes sure. In my opinion she is history itself. But I think so This is a naturally female-driven story.. It just so happened. It was not done by force. There’s a reason women are coming to the forefront of horror, and that’s because they’re capable of it. Women are capable of shooting these intense and terrifying scenes. It’s something everyone is capable of doing, if they’re passionate enough about it.

Your past and your future

-Do you think your work on “Servant” prepared you for this role?

-Yes of course. I was in Servant for five years, and for me it was like a masterclasses. I was surrounded by incredible actors, who had been in the industry a long time and knew exactly who they were and what they were doing. I was 19 and had no idea who I was or what I was doing. I had very bad impostor syndrome. So having those people around me was essential. I feel like they raised me like a bird, looked after me and sent me to make this film. I learned a lot from all of them.

-It’s no secret that you have a great voice, would you like to enter the world of music one day?

-One day maybe I will. I had a band, but it was kind of a pandemic project that we did with some friends to avoid going crazy. But yes, I would like to. I’m actually recording some music right now. And maybe one day, if I get drunk enough, I’ll let someone listen to it.
