Led by Diego Leuco and Lizy Tagliani, a new season of The Peña de Morfi (Telefe), the classic Sunday program created by Gerardo Rozín (1970-2022).
In the first program of this new stage, the hosts remembered the late journalist and presenter with pure emotion, and named the stage “Gerardo Rozín Stage”.
“It is impossible to do this program without feeling Gerardo’s imprint, that love. The love that each of the people who make this program feels from the beginning, since Gerardo was there. We want this stage and this place to be a truly special place for everyone”, began Leuco, while several images of Rozín scrolled on the screen together with some of the numerous artists who have traveled the cycle that unites music and gastronomy.
Then Lizy, visibly moved, added: “La Peña de Morfi has to do with my childhood, with my roots and with exalting and honoring the memory of Gerardo, who I believe continues to beat in this space, in the kitchen , on the patio, everywhere… Its essence is there and it seems like that to me We are like your guests.”
“I am very happy to do this program and above all to continue the legacy of our beloved Gerardo”– added Lizy.
“There is nothing better to honor Gerardo than with music and Los dos más uno, which he discovered,” added Leuco, showing the “Gerardo Rozín” stage poster. And then the trio made two very special songs for Rozín: Captive moon AND Zamba to forget.
What was the first program of “La Peña de Morfi” like?
“Welcome to season nine, what a spectacular team!” Leuco said at the beginning of the cycle, before welcoming Lizy, who joined the program after the departure of Jésica Cirio.
“I am happy to join this program, a program where literally anything will happen and, above all, disasters will happen,” Lizy promised, always with her characteristic humor.
Then Luck Ra, La K’onga, Luciano Pereyra and Los 4 de Córdoba appeared on the program, in a moving tribute to their 55 years of experience.
Furthermore, Lizy and Diego interviewed Las Trillizas de Oro and then Nancy Dupláa, before their theatrical debut with Exit (from 10 April at the Comafi Multitheatre).
For its part, the La Peña streaming also debuted (on YouTube and Telefe’s Twitch), hosted by Eleonora Pérez Caressi, Rodrigo Cascon and Mariale Mroue.
