No doubt, Law and Order: Special Victims Unit (SVU) It is one of the most successful series on the small screen and the numbers prove it. This year it premiered its 25th season and Juan José Campanella joined the celebrations for a quarter of a century on the air. The Argentinian Oscar winner for The Secret in Their Eyes directed the titled chapter Duty and relationshipwhich will be broadcast across Latin America this Tuesday, April 9 on Universal TV.
The legendary program has already won 25 Emmy Awards and is one of the longest-running series in the history of American television, with 546 episodes so far, and the only one to have aired since 1999 on the NBC network. It recently arrived on Netflix, but only with seasons 6, 7, 9, 10 and 11.
It is not the first time that Juan José Campanella participates in this series. He also directed the tenth episode of the 6th season, the twentieth of the 7th and the third of the 8th. This is therefore the fourth time that he is part of the team, which he treats as if it were his family.
“Law and Order: SVU It was the first prime time TV show I ever worked on in my life., so it’s like coming back to friends, a high school reunion. At this point we are friends with Mariska Hargitay and the one who is now a producer was my assistant director 20 years ago, so it’s really coming back to a family and a team that loves each other very much,” commented Campanella.
In the fourth episode of the detective series from the director of The secret in their eyesOlivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and the Special Victims Unit will be called to investigate the sexual assault of a member of Chief McGrath’s (Terry Serpico) family.
As the team investigates the case, they will directly confront the boss and his impulsive behavior, which will break the limits of good police action to obtain justice, putting their work and the proper conduct of the investigation at risk.
