This Wednesday the 23rd, the day of the 73rd birthday of Charlie Garciastaged their biggest success to date, with around twenty great singers of different musical styles, performing unforgettable hits.

On this occasion they got together an incessant parade of extras and great songs, always with the breadth of criteria that characterizes the new generation of audiences and musicians, uniting people of different genres. As Charly himself predicted, “Without prejudice are those who will come.”
Only with that freedom of action was he able to join García’s great colleagues (Nito Mestre, León Gieco, Pedro Aznar, Fabiana Cantilo) with rock people (Santi Motorizado, Ale Kurz, Lula Bertoldi), the tango (Raúl Lavie), folklore (the Sun, Los Nocheros), tropical music (La Delio Valdez, Angela Leiva) and music for children (Topa). It was also a success on the solidarity level: 4 tons of food were collectedbecause the only requirement to pick up the free tickets the day before was to bring a donation.
An excellent artistic level
It is worth pointing out that in many tributes, tributes and celebrations of great artists you run a double risk: making versions so faithful that they contribute nothing or facing interpretations so different that the key essence of the piece is lost. It’s almost a lose-lose and the occasions in which they hit the target are few.
This time, however, the success was very high, and the audience appreciated it by standing up, applauding the artists and singing or clapping their hands.
At the beginning, after a series of notes taken by Julio Leiva, Evelyn Botto, Elial Moldavsky and Pedro Rosemblat in the theater room, with some armchairs and decorations similar to Charly García’s house (graffiti on the wall, broken telephones and keyboards, vinyls and posters), Migue Granados welcomed from the stage, a few minutes after eight in the evening.
The charismatic pilot told an anecdote from 1999, when he was 12 years old and heard a Charly García song for the first time. He recalled more details of his relationship with his idol’s music and concluded: “Doing this is a dream of ours.”
