As part of the Ministry of Education’s School Culture program, David Goudreault has visited several schools in Quebec over the past few years to provide writing and poetry workshops. In the first stage, David Goudreault went to a class in the 6th grade at the Ste-Flore school in the village of Grand-Mère, to give a poetry workshop. In particular, she met Mickaël, a student with a severe learning disability who hid a budding poet behind her shyness.

This young man, who hated French, writing and creating literature, became a poetry star who would publish his first collection of poems at the age of 12, which I preceded, and launch it at a public event in the midst of his village.explanation of the series host.

In another episode, we meet Nicolas, who is serving a sentence in a Bordeaux prison. We found him a few weeks later at a school for adults in Montreal North, with young hang-ups. Nicolas came to read a poem that inspired our meeting and he had a standing ovationexplanation by David Goudreault.

In addition to her meetings with neophytes, young and old, the host also introduced us to poets from Quebec who have created touching works, such as Geneviève Rioux, a survivor of sexual assault and attempted murder to launch his first book of poetry, SurvivorsMay 16.

The series in four 60-minute stages, directed by Marie Carpentier, is divided into four themes: transmission, influence, isolation and liberation. The first episode will air on Friday at 9 pm on ICI ARTV.
