Amazon Studios Project Will Have a Script by Chris Terrio, From “Argo”
Jeremy Strong, star of the acclaimed series “Succession”, will embark on a new television project. According to Deadline, the actor has been cast to star in an Amazon Studios miniseries about Boeing’s 737 Max planes.
According to the North American website, Strong will play an engineer in the fictional plot, which will explore the history of aircraft. The idea of the project, which will be written by Chris Terrio (“Argo”) is to show how a failure in the automated flight control system, the Maneuvering Characteristics Augmentation System (MCAS), led to fatal incidents in 2019.
At the time, Boeing was accused of fraud and admitted that two of its technicians misled the Federal Aviation Administration about the aircraft’s flight system. In 2021, the company agreed to pay around $2.5 billion to settle the case. This year, the families of the victims of the US crashes asked a federal judge in Texas to cancel the settlement and reopen the criminal case.
Jeremy Strong also takes on the role of executive producer alongside Chris Terrio, Karim Amer and Jehane Noujaim. The project has not yet received a title and release date, but it should be released on Prime Video.
