During the conversation with the magazine, Cattrall revealed that she was not invited to participate in the new version. “I came to the conclusion that really the greatest compliment I could have as an actress is to be missed.“, commented, in reference to the reaction of the fans to the absence of the character.

According to the actress, the story introduced in the revival to justify the absence of her character was “very different” in relation to the plot built on the original. In the new series, Carrie and Samantha would have fought because the public relations got angry after the writer ended the contract between the two.

THE revival still has Samnatha’s presence through brief text messages exchanged between her and Carrie. “I don’t know how to feel about this“, he said Cattrallasked how she felt about the series continuing the character without her.

She continued: “It’s so finite for me, so don’t go on. I think I would think about it more if it didn’t have something like ‘Queer as Folk’ or ‘How I Met Your Father’. That’s more or less where I’m centered. This feels like an echo of the past“, he stated.

It’s rare in this business to have a reaction like people wanting more from a 65-year-old woman.“, she explained. “That’s very strong, the fact that I’ve done something I’m very proud of. I loved her [Samantha]. I loved her so, so, so much. It’s tough competition. The original series is in our imagination. But for me it’s [um fim] clean“, he declared.

The actress also revealed that “not definitive” is his response to the possibility of one day returning to the series.”I Think Darren [Starr, criador de ‘Sex and the City’] hit it with ‘Emily in Paris’. It’s a young series. It’s about youthful ideals. It’s about discovery. I think the original series is really amazing, but that was a different time.

So it’s a definite no?“, asked the reporter. “Is this a no. It’s powerful to say no“, concluded Cattrall.
