Is it going? The plan is for him to stay a week or at least a few more days. The rest of the filming will be done in New York. Photo by Reuters
Four days of filming have passed Robert DeNiro for the series Whateverwith the Louis Brandonidirecting Mariano Cohn and Gaston Duprat. And the news isn’t the rumor that the Argentine actor is angry with the New Yorker, but De Niro will finish filming tomorrow Saturday and return by private plane to New York.
We’ll tell you why.
Thursday’s day began with two film crews, one at the same location on Wednesday, at the Faena Art Center, and the second not far from there, in the La Boca neighborhood.

The new thing found 250 extras – to come back with the same clothes to sit in the same chair in the auditorium, to continue filming the book presentation scene Whateverwritten by Manuel (Luis Brandoni) and presented in place by Vincent (Robert De Niro) – and the 120 technicians will have to sign a confidentiality agreement, to prevent the leakage of what will happen on set.
As Brandoni began his filmmaking day at Faena, the New York actor did so in La Boca. In the afternoon, and denying baseless rumors that the actor came Waiting for the carriage bewildered by the supposedly late arrival of the guest on the set of the film, both met at the Patagonia Sur restaurant, to film more scenes together. And they were seen in the same good mood as on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Those close to the production spoke about the beautiful harmony of the two of them, who are friends in real life.

The restaurant is owned by Francis Mallmann, one of the culinary advisers that the series has -Manuel is a gastronomic critic who is visited by his friend Vincent-, and there, they shoot some scenes. The place has heavy baroque décor, with many pieces of French art and glassware, velvet upholstered walls and stylish lamps.
They set up a kind of special lounge for De Niro on the top floor of the Andreani Foundation, which is there, next to the Proa Foundation. It is a cultural center, with windows with beautiful views of La Boca, its bridges over Riachuelo. The space was designed by Clorindo Testa, and has the architect’s typical semicircular window.
Robert De Niro refused to pose with a fan. Video capture.
The lounge is just for waiting between camera and light position changes. Brandoni, with those deductions, chose to watch the news and read newspapers. In the restaurant scenes, Manuel and Vincent continue to talk like two old friends, or they have met for decades and are chasing their lives.
Bitter mate for De Niro
The day had to come, and it did. A part of the management team fired Robert De Niro — Bob, for all intents and purposes — and after first suffering from bitter taste, the 78 -year -old man, who must have thought He was. He tried everything, he liked it.
So today, Friday, an assistant – or perhaps Tiffany herself, De Niro’s girlfriend who accompanied him on this trip – will approach a business in Palermo, where they will pick up a shipment of mate and herbal medicine.

This is the De Niro, in addition to the chorizo steak on horseback and the dulce de leche ice cream, can infuse.
Tiffany didn’t go to the shoot yesterday, but the visitor was Brandoni: her daughters and one of her grandchildren arrived.
This Friday, May 6, in Palermo they will shoot and they also need to finish some shots left by La Boca. Also, the famous neighborhood is walled by three blocks around where it was filmed.

Bye Bob
As we said, Saturday is the last day of filming for De Niro, who leaves immediately after he films. There are still pending shots, and the decision must be made in New York. Either a team travels to Manhattan, or else De Niro will return to Buenos Aires at some point.
It is, as stated in the press release or statement released by Star+ yesterday, that there will be no stream in 2023, De Niro will have special participation in the first four episodes and will be the guest star in the episode that will close the series, the fifth. . The “special participation” in the first four chapters is Vincent’s narration of what is happening in Buenos Aires.
I put Francella
Guillermo Francella will not be filming with Robert De Niro. As we’ve already said, and denies that “he’ll be in the series with Brandoni”, he will appear in one episode, returning the respect -Brandoni does this in The manager, the Cohn and Duprat series that has finished shooting and should be watched on Star+ this year. Francella acts as a used car salesman.

On Wednesday, a scene was shot where Manuel and Vincent arrived at Faena aboard a yellow Mercedes Benz, a model from the ’80s, very vintage, belonging to Manuel’s character — and not Vincent, as misrepresented of some media-. But Manuel isn’t driving, Antonia (the young Paraguayan Majo Cabrera), Manuel’s new employee or assistant, fills the vacant space left by the death of María Rosa Fugazot’s character. Manuel sat on the passenger side, and Vincent, in the back.
That car, at one point Manuel wanted to sell it, and he called it the best selling used car in the city, which is Francella’s character.
The last day
For De Niro’s farewell, on Saturday – with at least six weeks of filming left for the rest of the Argentine cast – filming awaits him on various central streets of Buenos Aires. They will all be outdoor, and then the van he uses will likely deliver De Niro directly to Ezeiza airport, where he will board the same private plane that took him on Saturday, April 30th.
But it’s still missing, and it’s up to us.
