The second season of the series with Selena Gomez arrives on Star+ in June
The Oscar Winner Shirley MacLaine (“Downtown Abbey”) had already been confirmed in the cast of the second season of “Only Murders in the Building”, but only now her role has finally been revealed.
According to the vanity fair, MacLaine will live the mother of BunnyArconia’s most recent assassination, former chairman of the building’s committee and frequent opponent of the protagonist amateur detectives.
In the plot of the series, Charles-Haden Savage (Steve Martin), a former television star; Oliver Putnam (Martin Short), a bankrupt director; and Mabel Mora (Selena Gomez), a very, very mysterious girl, end up getting close because of a common interest: addiction to podcasts of real crimes.
Coincidentally, the encounter takes place on the same night that a person commits suicide in the building they live in. Curious and instigated by the mystery, they decide to “take a peek” at the crime scene and are faced with a very suspicious scenario, which leads them to start their own investigation.
In addition, as it could not be otherwise, they also create a podcast, “Only Murders in the Building”, to record every step of the work. However, all these efforts seem like just an excuse to get their heads out of their hopeless, secret-filled lives.
The series is produced by martin beside John Hoffman, from “Grace & Frankie”. The cast still has Amy Ryan (“Fear of Truth”), Aaron Dominguez (“Partners at War”) and Nathan Lane (“The Cage of Madness”). next to MacLaine, Dear Delevingne (“Paper Towns”) and Amy Schumer (“Uncompensated”) round out the rookie team in the next wave of episodes.
The second season of “Only Murders in the Building” will be shown exclusively by Star+, and arrives in the catalog of streaming on the 28th of June. Watch the new teaser:
