After over 100 days of shooting & over 3000 shots, this is the slate for the final shot of #GotGVol3, presented to me by the camera crew. It was an easy shot of Rocket seated, 1st with @seangunn& then nothing there, & took everything in me not to break down sobbing on the spot. pic.twitter.com/pOrTjfab2h

Bautista has long emphasized that his love for playing Drax was all about Gunn, who was originally fired by Disney from directing “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” because of inappropriate jokes he has made on Twitter in the past.
The actor routinely spoke out against Disney in support of Gunnand he declined to play Drax again unless Gunn returned to the direction. Disney ended up rehiring Gunn.
“I am contractually obligated [a fazer o terceiro filme]but I think Marvel and Disney –– if I had really stood my ground and said, ‘I don’t want to do this without James’ –– I think they’re decent enough to let me out of my contract“, he said Bautista to Variety in 2019.
“Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” is scheduled to be released on May 5, 2023.
