Our new platform will democratize access to our collections, expand their reach and contribute to a wider dissemination of our collective heritage.said Suzanne Sauvage, President and CEO of the McCord Museum.

In addition to the historical photographs, which form an integral part of the museum’s collection, there will be access to works by Canadian artists, photographs of clothing, scientific equipment and geographical maps.

The various documents are grouped into seven sections on the site titled “Online Collections” (New window) : archives, documentary art, clothing, fashion and textiles, indigenous culture, material culture and photography.

The museum received financial support from the Azrieli Foundation ($ 500,000), a Canadian philanthropic organization, and Canadian Heritage ($ 300,000) to create this platform.
