Among the hundred artists invited to this year’s Piknic Électronik, half are women, the first since the famous Montreal electronic music event was founded in 2003. The festivities will begin on May 22 at Parc Jean-Drapeau, on île Sainte-Hélène, and will end on October 2.
As per the usual formula, music performances will take place on Sundays, but also on holiday Mondays, for example National Patriots ’Day and Labor Day.
Music lovers are also invited to take advantage of the special nights of OF Piknic, a parallel section of the main program that will kick off with Kaytranada shows on May 19 and 20.
The Montreal artist is a leading figure in the international electro scene. It won two Grammy awards in 2020, including Best Dance/Electronic Album.
French DJs Breakbot and Irfane are on the bill for the first meeting of Sunday the 19that season of Piknic Électronik, on the Videotron stage. We owe in tandem the success of the planet Baby I’m Yourspublished in 2012.
On the same day, Montreal DJ Poirier and his sidekick KYOU will take turns on the Boisé stage at Parc Jean-Drapeau, to offer a B2B presentation (or turn awaywhich means to mix the duet with electro jargon).
