The groups The Smashing Pumpkins and Jane’s Addiction, two behemoths of alternative rock in the 1990s, announced on Wednesday joint tour dates that will take them specifically to Montreal, Quebec, Toronto and Vancouver from October.
Title Spirits on Fire Tour, the 32-concert North American tour will begin in Dallas, Texas on Oct. 2 and end in Los Angeles on Nov. 19. Meanwhile, the two groups will stop along with Toronto on Oct. 24; in Montreal, Oct. 26; in Quebec, on Oct. 27, and in Vancouver, on Nov. 11.
Tickets will go on sale Friday at 10 am at Ticketmaster, (New window) with a Live Nation presale Thursday noon, accessible with code FINALE.
The Smashing Pumpkins has also confirmed that they will be releasing new music in 2022, according to Pitchfork. The group’s latest opus, the double album Cyrwas launched in 2020. For its part, Jane’s Addiction hasn’t released a studio album since The Great Escape Artistpublished in 2011.
