Paramount+’s first authorial film hits the catalog on May 18
“Vai Dar Nada” is the new comedy by Jorge Furtado (“Under Pressure”) and Guel Arraes (“O Auto da Compadecida”), which marks the first Brazilian production made by Paramount+, streaming responsible for the exhibition of the film on May 18. But, you must be wondering: what is the story about? And I tell you: talk about the DPVAT, in addition to the various perks and loopholes in Brazil’s laws and positions.
In this matter, the filmmakers managed to capture very well what they wanted to convey to those who watched the film. Lightly, dynamically and with a lot of humor – it’s no wonder that Rafael Infante and Katiuscia Canoro are in the cast – “Vai Dar Nada” shows how our country’s system works for those who know how to deal with it. and second stolen, “is the best film about DPVAT” already produced on Brazilian soil.
The story follows Kelson (Cauê Campos), a young man who lives with his sister Rebeca (Jessica Barbosa) at the home of their deceased parents. While the girl works hard, dedicates herself to her studies and to work at the law firm, the boy doesn’t want to know anything else to earn a living, other than stealing. Known as a car thief, Kelson uses his motorcycle to carry out the thefts, and of course, impress his love neide (Fernanda Teixeira). But, as everything in life needs changes, he decides to retire his old motorcycle and buy the one from the community boss, acquired by Fernando (Rafael Infante), an unscrupulous scammer.
But, to make matters worse, Kelsonthe motorcycle purchased belongs to none other than Brasilite (Heinz Limaverde), a dangerous bandit and boss of the community where he lives, who was arrested after a police raid on the place. It is like Fernando managed to gain access to a vehicle seized by the department? yes, with with suzi (Katiuscia Canoro), a policewoman who participates in his schemes. And then when Brasilite manages to get out of prison, decides it’s time to get his bike back, and now the couple must do their best to elude both the police and the thief. Edmund (Nicolas Vargas), pen Kelsonwas part of the arrangements for the thefts next to the young man.
In parallel with this plot, the Dr. Marcia (Kizi Vaz) gets involved in the problem when she is sought out to help them out of a slump. At this point in history, Fernando and suzi they are no longer together, since once a crook, always a crook. with your crush hidden by Rebecawho carelessly ends up getting involved with Fernando and creating plans to get married, the lawyer also helps her friend not to fall for the dismantling owner’s lip service, and assumes her love for the law student.
Arriving here, we have an important point of discussion: the homosexual relationship between two women. Asked about this moment of the plot in a conversation between journalists, in which the cinebuzz was present, Jessica managed to be very authentic with his positioning. According to the actress, her character has idealized a whole kind of story to follow in her life, the pattern that everyone already knows: studying and finding a decent partner to marry and build a family. However, this romantic feeling that arose towards another woman “already existed within it, but had never been explored”.
Finally, what is the opinion of “Vai Dar Nada”, words so well known by some Brazilians, who seek that little way we already know? It’s a good movie, but not the best. Despite this, it has a narrative that captures the viewer from the beginning, who seeks to understand – and is curious – to know what will be the outcome of the young man who lives in a community and manages to have the basics thanks to the thefts he carries out alongside Edmundo at requests from suzi and Fernando, responsible for giving “that talent” to cars through the loopholes it finds in Brazilian legislation. In the end, it’s a fun story that has strong criticism in the background.
