Montreal-based company Danse Danse will celebrate its 25th anniversary with the presentation of two works created by legendary German artist Pina Bausch. The new opus of renowned Quebec choreographer Marie Chouinard is also one of the highlights of the 2022-2023 program, announced Thursday.
The season will begin on Oct. 5 with The Rite of Spring, choreographed by Pina Bausch in 1975, will be danced by approximately thirty performers from 14 countries in Africa. It is one of the most famous versions of pagan ballet composed by Igor Stravinsky in the early 20’sat century.

The breath as the basis of Marie Chouinard’s new ballet
The kick-off of the year 2023 will be provided by Marie Chouinard’s new creation, M, a work aimed at being determined avant-garde. It is orchestral from a soundtrack whose raw material is the breath and voice of 12 dancers.
