According to the writer and creator of the series, Jeremy Slaterthe “Moon Knight” team almost included a meeting between Steven and Dane in the show, but the scene was eventually cut from the project’s final script.

“We talked a little bit about having Dane Whitman just because he also works in a museum and it could be a natural interaction. But I think if we were to bring in Kit Harington and he didn’t wear a uniform and he gets beat up, as a fan, I’d be pissed off.” explained in an interview with ComicBook. “If it’s to appear, let it be as the Black Knight. Seeing just one interaction where he would only see Steven in passing would be a waste of money.”

In the post-credits scene of “Eternals”, the film in which Harington makes his debut in the role of Whitman, the character appears looking at the Ebony Sword, a family heirloom. Soon after, we heard the voice of Mahershala Ali (“Moonlight: Under the Moonlight”), which will live the blade in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, asking if Dane is ready to take on the sword’s legacy.
