Tom Sturridge will play Morpheus the Dream from Neil Gaiman’s comic book adaptation
Netflix announced this Monday (16) the new edition of Geeked Week, a virtual event that will disclose news of its upcoming releases, including “Sandman”. The festival takes place between June 6th and 10th and will be broadcast live on YouTube.
The platform released a special video with several never-before-seen scenes from the comic book adaptation of Neil Gaimanwhich show details of the visual of Gwendoline Christie (“Game of Thrones”) as Lucifer on the Serie. Check it out below:

In the adaptation of the digital platform, the first season of the series must adapt the initial arc of the comics, entitled “Preludes and Nocturnes” in the present day. In that arc, Dream (Tom Sturridge), the ruler of the Dreaming, is imprisoned after a ritual that sought to arrest the Death (Kirby Howell-Baptiste), your sister.
He is trapped for 70 years, until he finally breaks free and begins a journey to reignite the Dreaming again and retrieve his three tools: a pouch full of sand, a ruby, and a helm.
Besides Sturridge and Christiethe list has David Thewlis, Kirby Howell-Baptiste, Jenna Coleman, Mason Alexander Park, Donna Preston, Razane Jammal, Kyo Ra, Sandra James Young, Stephen Fry, Joely Richardson, Niamh Walsh and Patton Oswalt. The actors Vivienne Acheampong, Charles Dance, Boyd Holbrook, Asim Chaudhry and Sanjeev Bhaskar complete the team.
Netflix has yet to reveal a release date for “Sandman.”
