Actresses played the same character at different times in “The Lost Daughter”
the actresses Olivia Colman and Jessie Buckley will team up again for the comedy “Wicked Little Letters”. The information is from Deadline.
Both worked together on “The Lost Daughter”, directed by Maggie Gyllenhaal, and released by Netflix. In the movie, Colman lived the older version of the character, while Buckley interpreted the newest version.
The plot of “Wicked Little Letters” is based on the true story of two totally different neighbors who join forces to solve a mystery.
Buckley will play Rose Gooding, a brash woman who has little in common with her religious neighbor Edith Swan (Colman), in addition to living in the same part of the city.
Set in the seaside town of Littlehampton in the 1920s, Edith, along with others, receives a series of obscene and erratic letters written in foul language – and suspicion soon falls on Rose. After all, who else would feel the need to resort to such drastic and childish measures?
But as the letters continue to wreak havoc in the city and Rose sees her freedom and her daughter’s custody under threat, police officer Gladys Moss suspects something is wrong. Alongside a team of resourceful women, Gladys wants to solve the mystery, clear Rose’s name and find out who’s writing the letters.
The film will be directed by Thea Sharrock (“How I Was Before You”), with a screenplay by jonny sweet (“Together”).
The project should start shooting between September and November this year, in the United Kingdom.
