New Year of “Love, Death & Robots”; “It Will Give Nothing”; “Morbius”; and more premieres of the week (16 to 22/05) – Disclosure/Netflix/Paramount+/Sony Pictures

Another week full of releases in theaters and on the main platforms of streaming, like Netflix, HBO Max, Star+, Amazon Prime Video and more, is here! And as usual, so you can start choosing what you’re going to watch in the next few days, we’ve prepared a list of this week’s main releases.

MOVIE THEATER

    • “The Medium” (May 19)

In the plot, the team of a documentary follows neema shaman who is in northern Thailand, in the Isan area, and meets his niece mink showing strange symptoms that seem to be inherited from shamanism. The group decides to follow the young woman, hoping to capture the shaman lineage passing on to the next generation, but her bizarre behavior becomes more extreme. What could be owning mink may not be the Goddess they make her out to be. Watch the trailer:

    • “Flame of Vengeance” (May 19)

In the remake of the adaptation of Stephen Kingfrom 1984, we follow the father Andy (Zac Efron) and your daughter, Charlie. During his college years, the man had participated in a Lodge experiment dealing with “Lot 6”, a drug with hallucinogenic effects similar to LSD. The drug gave his future wife, Victoria Tomlinson, telekinetic abilities, and his telepathic form of mind control that he calls “pushing”. After getting married and having a seemingly normal life, his daughter Charlie ends up developing a frighteningly strong pyrokinetic ability. Having a normal childhood and family McGee living among normal people, The Lodge finds out about Charlie’s absurd powers, wanting to get her for further study. Watch the trailer:

  • “Dog – The Adventure of a Lifetime” (May 19)

In the film, two army veterans go together – against their will – on a road trip that will change their lives. Former Army Ranger, Briggs (Channing Tatum), is in charge of conducting Lulu (a Belgian military shepherd) along the Pacific coast in hopes of arriving in time for their owner’s funeral. along the way, Briggs you have to accept your post-traumatic stress disorder, as well as your difficulty in making emotional connections, in order to create an unlikely connection and have a real opportunity to be happy.

  • “Purity” (May 19)

“Pureza” is inspired by the real story of Pureza Lopes Loyola, whose struggle inspired the creation of the Special Mobile Inspection Group, the first action in Brazilian history aimed at fighting slave labor throughout the national territory. In the interior of Maranhao, Mrs Purity (Dira Paes) works making bricks alongside his son abel (Matheus Abreu). In search of a better life, the boy decides to try his luck in the Amazon mines. After months without hearing from her son, Purity begins a tireless journey to discover his whereabouts, and denounce the subversive work.

  • “Four Friends in a Cold” (May 19)

In the national comedy, four childhood friends who travel to Bariloche for dani (Mary flower), hoping for a smooth and fun trip. When they arrive in the Argentine city, however, things don’t go exactly as they planned. Between cabins without heaters, skis and lots of snow, the trip becomes an opportunity for revelations from the past and heartaches of the present that will forever alter the future of the friends.

    • “Who Killed Sara?” – Season 3 (May 18)

In the Mexican plot, determined to take revenge and prove that he was falsely framed for the murder of his sister, alex (Manolo Cardona) is about to discover much more than the real culprit in the crime. Watch the trailer:

    • “Love on the Spectrum: USA” – Season 2 (May 18)

The reality show follows a basic premise of other romance shows, however, here we know the romantic life of neurodivergent people. In the end, what everyone wants is to find love, but this task can be arduous depending on each one’s reality. Watch the trailer:

    • “Killer Instinct” (May 18)

To investigate his brother’s mysterious death, a man on parole heads to a remote island where he is forced to face his dark past.

    • “Tuscany” (May 18)

In the Danish novel, a chef goes to Tuscany to sell the goods he inherited from his father, but meets an inspiring woman who makes him rethink life and love.

    • “Perfect Match” (May 19)

starring Victoria Justice (“Bright Victory”) and Adam Demos (“Sex Life”), the film follows a top executive at a Los Angeles-based US wine company whose goal is to get his business a big customer. But he has to travel to a sheep farm in Australia, where he ends up working as a ranch hand, having fun in a rustic place so opposite to his routine, and opening himself up to new experiences and affections.   • “Love, Death & Robots” – Volume 3 (May 20)

In the anthology of animated shorts, terrifying creatures, bizarre surprises and acid humor inhabit and flourish in each of the many unique universes created for this collection of shorts, where each episode features its own narrative and visual style. Watch the trailer:

APPLE TV+

    • “Now and Then: The Secret That Binds Us” – Season 1 (May 20)

On the eve of college graduation, six best friends embark on an epic weekend to celebrate – but one that takes a fatal twist. Nearly 20 years later, the survivors are forced to meet over a blackmail text message that threatens to expose the truth about that fateful night years ago. Watch the trailer:

HBO MAX

  • “Legendary” – Season 3 (May 19)

The reality show operates by dividing contestants into multiple houses. Each house is led by a Mother or Father, by The Cinemaholic, and each week, they compete before a panel of judges to become the Superior House and vie for the $100,000 prize money.

AMAZON PRIME VIDEO

  • “Morbius” – RENTAL (May 17)

starring Jared Leto (“WeCrashed”), “Morbius” follows the Marvel character created by Roy Thomas and Gil Kane in issue 101 of “The Amazing Spider-Man” in 1971. In the story, Michael Moribius was a Nobel Prize-winning biochemist who was trying to find a cure for a blood disorder, but ended up turning into a vampire during one of his experiments.   • “Lovestruck High” – Season 1 (May 18)

narrated by Lindsay Lohanthe program brings together 15 British singles looking to form couples, but the whole scenario is based on an American school with the choice of who will be king and queen of the prom, that is, the winners of the dynamic.

  • “Night Sky” – Season 1 (May 20)

One day, while cleaning up the mess in the back room, the elderly couple Irene (Sissy Spacek) and Franklin (JK Simmons) discovers a portal that transports them to a desert planet thousands of years from Earth. But this secret is not kept for long and people around him begin to suspect that the couple keeps something hidden in their backyard. Watch the trailer:

DISNEY+

  • “Tico and Teco: Defenders of the Law” (May 20)

In the movie live action which will feature the return of the squirrel duo after 30 years, Teco (Andy Samberg) lives off past success to maintain fame in the present, while tico (John Mulaney) is an insurance broker. However, one phone call can change everything and bring back one of the most beloved detective duos in the world. Watch the trailer:

PARAMOUNT+

  • “It’s Gonna Give You Nothing” (May 18)

Paramount+’s first original movie follows Kelson (Cauê Campos), a young car thief who uses his motorcycle to escape the police, steal and win his love, neide (Fernanda Teixeira). But to escape the police, he’ll need a new bike, as his is now time to retire. But when he buys the scammer’s motorcycle Fernando (Rafael Infante), gets into trouble, since she belonged to Brasilite (Heinz Limaverde), a dangerous bandit. Fernando is married to suzi (Katiuscia Canoro) a policewoman who participates in her schemes to dismantle the community.

STAR+

  • “Bel-Air” – Season 1 (May 18)

The production will have two seasons and is based on a short Morgan Cooperwhich reimagined the sitcom starring Will Smith (“King Richard: Raising Champions”) as a drama series. He will also be responsible for the script, while Smith returns to the project as a producer. the young actor, Jabari Banks, was chosen to revive the character. Watch the trailer:

  • “Valley Night” (May 20)

“Tired of dealing with the responsibilities of her first child, Daiana decides to take a ‘Vale Night’ to spend the night with her friends, but for that she needs to leave the child with the child’s father. Vini, also bored, decides to take the baby to the funk dance, where everything goes well until he loses the boy and goes in search of the child throughout the community, putting himself in unusual and fun situations so that Diana doesn’t notice anything”, describes the synopsis. The main cast has Gabriela Dias, Pedro Ottoni and the ex-BBB, Linn da Quebrada.
