Here are ten works running for the Prism Award for Best Canadian Music Video

A dozen directors are among the finalists competing for the 2022 Prism Award, a recognition that recognizes exceptional talent in music video making in Canada.

Among the finalists was Montrealer Vincent René-Lortie, who directed a music video for the play the cloud by composer Simon Leoza, also from Montreal.

The Toronto jazz group’s name BADBADNOTGOOD appears twice in the named works, for the music videos that accompany their pieces. Love Proceeding at Shy, Scarydirected by Jamal Burger and Winston Hacking respectively.

The winner of the Prism Grand Prize music video, chosen by a jury of more than 130 people working in the fields of music, film and media arts, will be announced on July 7, 2022 in Toronto. This difference was accompanied by a $ 20,000 scholarship.

The public is also saying something: a $ 5,000 prize will be awarded to the music video that receives the most votes online through June 8. You can vote for your favorite video on the Prism Prize website (New window).
