Disney+ is preparing a documentary about Elton John to be called

It has been confirmed that Elton John’s documentary called “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road” will be coming to the streaming platform. The production will be directed by Disney Original Documentary and Disney Plus.

The documentary will showcase moments from the rock star’s entire five -decade career. David Furnish, partner and husband of Elton John, will direct the documentary along with RJ Cutler, director of last year’s “Billie Eilish The World’s a Little Blurry” documentary for Apple TV+.

“Goodbye Yellow Brick Road” will focus on John’s ongoing tour that began in 2018, “Farewell Yellow Brick Road.” It will feature exclusive interviews and footage from the musician’s last concerts, as well as unseen footage and photos from his entire career.

“There are no adjectives left to describe Elton John and his impact on music and culture. He is unparalleled,” said Disney CEO Bob Chapek.

He added: “Like a good Disney story, Elton’s music has a universal appeal and the ability to connect with audiences on a deep personal level. He has been part of the Disney family since 1994 when he helped he’s in the making The lion kingand we couldn’t be more excited to work with him on this new documentary. ”

There is a possibility that “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road” will be screened at various festivals and in theaters for a limited time before it is released on Disney Plus.

“It’s fun and honorable that David Furnish and I have done this intimate and unique look to one of the most famous artists in the world,” Cutler said.

For his part, Furnish said he and Elton John can’t think of a better collaborator than Cutler for a documentary that not only describes the artist’s career, but also his life. “We enjoy working together,” he commented.

For a long time, Disney Plus has been betting on music documentaries and they have been very attractive to fans of the artists. The Beatles: Back, Black King Beyoncé and Billie Eilish concert film More Fun Than Ever are just a few examples.

The great Elton John was born on March 25, 1947. He was undoubtedly one of the most successful musical artists in history, with countless records, milestones and famous anecdotes.

To wit: he was the only artist to maintain at least one song on the Billboard Hot 100 for 30 consecutive years, from 1970 to 2000. His song Candles in the air 1997, rewritten after the death of Princess Diana of Wales, sold over 33 million copies and was the second best -selling single in history.

Among the official recognitions, in November Prince Charles anointed him at a ceremony at Windsor Castle as a Member of the Order of the Companions of Honor, an exclusive recognition granted by British royalty that, to date, has only reached about 65 personality.

Currently, his way of composing and singing is still at the top of the charts, as he made a remix with Dua Lipa called Cold Heartwhich saves excerpts from his classics Rocket Man Y sacrifice.
