Producer reveals season 4’s focus will be on Sadie Sink’s character
Previous seasons of “Stranger Things” so far have focused on characters like Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), Mike (Finn Wolfhard) and Will (Noah Schnapp), but the fourth year should give more prominence to Max, played by Sadie Sink.
In an interview with IGN, the producer and director Shawn Levy indicated that Max will indeed be further developed this year, particularly in the fourth episode, described as a “Sadie anthem”.
“This, to me, is one of the Duffer Brothers’ main superpowers.”, explained Levy. “They have a plan. They always have a plan, but they always observe and adjust based on what the actors deliver.”.
“So, for example, Joe Keery (who plays Steve Harrington) would be a part of an episode, part of a season. Then he became a main character in the multi-season franchise. Why? Why Joe Keery delivered”, continued the producer.
the own Sadie Sink talked about Max’s development in “Stranger Things”, revealing his state after losing his brother in the previous season. “Max in Season 4 is a little bit closer to where she was in Season 2 because she had this barrier just being the rookie.” he explained.
“And then in Season 3, she relaxes and we see a more fun, comfortable version of Max. But in Season 4, she reverted to her old ways, but at another extreme. So in a way it looks familiar, but it’s really, it’s heartbreaking. It’s almost like the life has been drained from her”.
The new season of “Stranger Things” was divided into two volumes, with the first wave of episodes coming to Netflix on May 27, 2022. Volume 2 enters the catalog of streaming approximately a month later, on the 1st of July.
The fifth and final season of the series has already been confirmed by Netflix.
