Cannes’ tradition of long standing ovations is really uncomfortable. Well, know that the 5 minutes of applause received by the continuation of the 1986 classic is nothing compared to other films that have already passed through the Festival in previous editions.

That’s why CineBuzz made this short list of the six most applauded films in the history of the Cannes Film Festival. Remembering that this is a mere sample of some of the films whose applause was documented in their times. Check out:

  1. “Pan’s Labyrinth” (2006) – 22 minutes
  2. “Fahrenheit 9/11” (2004) – 20 minutes
  3. “Love Bandit” (2012) – 18 minutes
  4. “Neon Demon” (2016) – 17 minutes
  5. “Capernaum” (2018) – 15 minutes
  6. “Obsession” (2012) – 15 minutes
