Those who remember him as Arnold Schwarzenegger’s antagonist in Terminator 2: Doomsday (1991), the T-1000 robot made of liquid metal and changed shape, you will surely be surprised to see Robert Patrick in Argentina Comic Con this weekend, on the Costa Salguero. And not because of his presence -he was one of the visiting foreign figures-, but because of the change in his physique.
Of course, those who saw it this year on peacemakerthe series of James Gunn based on the suicide squadlike Auggie, the despicable father of John Cena’s character, when they catch him walking in Buenos Aires they’ll recognize him right away.
Tall, 1.82 meters tall, he is fat and very sociable. The oldest of five siblings – one of them is Richard, leader of the rock band Filter, who is a guitarist for Nine Inch Nails – Robert is 63 years old, 31 years married and has two children.

In addition to the aforementioned productions, he participated in the last two seasons of X Files: The Secret X Files and know how to have a repetitive role The Sopranos.
“You can be one of the biggest countries in the world right now,” he surprises at one point in an interview with Costa Salguero. Robert Patrick is on the Main Stage -which this year is outside- this Saturday the 21st at 6:00 pm, and on Sunday the 22nd, at 2:30 pm
Schwarzenegger is in the James Cameron film. “‘Terminator’ is scary, but ‘Terminator 2’ is the best, a more polished movie.”
-How much did your career change playing the T-1000 in “Terminator 2: Judgment Day”?
-Well, I was so lucky to get the T-1000 paper. And I’m so lucky that James Cameron is looking for an unknown role to play in that character. And I had a great agent, Darryl Marshak, who put up with me and put up with me, and introduced me and described me as some kind of combination of James Dean and David Bowie.
How did you get into “T2”? “My agent described me as some kind of combination of James Dean and David Bowie,” Robert told Clarín.
And when I go back my look at the time, I can say that’s a pretty accurate description, and luckily it fits the look James was going for. If you look at the casting options James has, there are similarities between the people he casts. We have a lot in common with Eddie Furlong. Linda (Hamilton) and Arnold (Schwarzenegger). It’s interesting, it’s interesting.
I know you had intense training for that film.
-God, this is intense … You have to have the physical preparation to get in shape to play the T-1000. I trained with an Israeli Special Forces commando named Uzi Gall. That’s super intense. We did all sorts of things, from judo, weapon training, sprinting.
Robert Patrick had intense training for “T 2”. “We even made it way to run and walk,” he said.
How we run… We developed the way of running and walking. But the complete physical activity I did was really necessary for the representation of that character. And you have to believe that you can do all the things you see me doing.
-Have you seen the other “Terminator” saga movies? What is your opinion?
-I think Terminators 2 This is the best in the whole franchise. terminator this is a great movie. It’s very scary and it has low budget aspects, which you can see it and it has kind of a cheap production aura, which I don’t think is duplicated in T2. Terminators 2 it is a more polished and well -made film. Obviously there are budget differences, but yes, the story is Good versus Evil, technology has overtaken humanity, and humanity has to fight with technology to fight technology. This is very interesting.
Like the supremacist from “Peacemaker.” Robert Patrick also participated in “The Walking Dead”, a series of which he was a fan.
-Auggie, your character, the main character’s father, doesn’t end in “The Peacemaker”, but is there any concrete possibility that you’ll return to the James Gunn series as White Dragon?
-I think, like a ghost, without destroying it for everyone. But the final shot of the final episode of the series shows you the Peacemaker (John Cena) sitting on his front porch, drinking beer and relaxing. The story is over. And when the camera came out, his father came with him and sat next to him. And you get the idea that his father still lives there.
Also, I tell him “you might kill me, but I’m not going anywhere. I’m still alive in your brain. “Hmm … And that’s a hint of what to expect. And it really brings some possibility for all sorts of situations where the father can show up and disturb John while he’s alive. he.

-There will be new adventures.
-New adventures, maybe …
-“Peacemaker” is a very politically incorrect series, what’s the funniest thing about being in it?
-The goodness of peacemaker I could play a despicable man. And yet, we’re really having fun inside that world. You’re talking about some current issues that are very relevant, but we can approach them from a humorous perspective, which is why I deliberately dived into the series.

I mean, when you have to play a horrible, white supremacist guy full of so much hatred, know we’re having fun with that too … That’s what’s really interesting about it.
-What memories do you have of your time in “X-Files, The Secret X Files”?
-John Doggett is one of my favorite characters, of all the ones I’ve played in my career. I loved being a romantic lead. I love working with women Gillian (Anderson, agent Dana Scully) and Annabeth (Gish, who plays Monica Reyes), not necessarily in that order, it can be the opposite, you know?
With Gillian Anderson, in “The X-Files”.
I really love that. This is pretty much what I thought I would do when I came to Hollywood. Or at least he hoped he would be a good person someday. Even once. I didn’t really know he was going to be a bad person. Because you know, when you’re cast that way, that’s the way you’re seen in Hollywood. And you go, you stay glued to that.
And here, with Annabeth Gish, who played Monica Reyes in the Chris Carter series.
But I’m looking for more opportunities. And I could play, perhaps, a tough guy, like I did scorpion. I don’t know if you know Scorpion here in Argentina or not, but it’s a show for CBS where I’m a rough guy with a golden heart. I enjoyed those characters.
in “Scorpion” “I was kind of a rough guy with a heart of gold,” he says of his character.
-What did you know about Argentina before going to Comic Con?
-All I know about Argentina is the tango, with delicious coffee and delicious meat. I have an Argentine friend. He was married to a friend of mine, actor Bobby Duvall (he was referring to Luciana Pedraza from Salta, married to actor from Ninong Y apocalypse today), who is a big fan of tango. I don’t want to reveal where I’m staying, but Bobby is a nice guy and his wife is a very nice woman.

I enjoyed Argentina then, on his farm in Virginia, just outside of Washington, DC, and hope to see him again soon. But your question is more about Argentina. And I just really know what I mentioned to you. But I was fascinated, it was an interesting country.
Spanish Itziar Ituño and Robert Patrick, the two international figures of this edition of Argentina Comic Con.
And when you hear more about it, I know that at one time Argentina had a massive gross national product. It was like the seventh largest economy in the world at one point. So from a political point of view, the impact it has on the world and the potential it has grown and where it is political and all that, it is very, very intriguing, I think, in the rest of the world .
You can be one of the greatest nations in the world today. So it’s fun to be here and get to know you all.
