First season of “Bel-Air” is now available on Star+
The first – and long-awaited – episodes of “Bel-Air”, a series inspired by the sitcom with Will Smith, “A Maluco no Pedaço”, arrived on Star+ last week to quell the public’s curiosity about how the characters they love would be portrayed. In particular, how would the plot unfold and if it would be similar to the original production of the 1990s.
In this regard, viewers can feel a difference, as “Bel-Air” is set in modern America. The series offers a dramatic new look at the protagonist’s life-changing journey. Willlived by Jabari Banks in adaptation, from the streets of West Philadelphia to the gated mansions of Bel-Air, where he finds his life turned upside down, encountering new challenges and prejudices in a world of wealth and aspiration.

- Jabari Banks as Will
jabari he worked in a factory and devoted himself to musical theater studies when he heard about the “Bel-Air” auditions. The 23-year-old actor debuts on television as the protagonist and, as a bonus, the series draws a parallel with his life, as he is also rapperplays basketball and was born and raised in West Philadelphia.
- Adrian Holmes as Philip Banks
Adrian Holmes is a Canadian actor and voice actor best known for his television roles such as: basketballin “Smallville” (2001); Marcus Mitchell, in “True Justice” (2011); and Frank Pike, in “Arrow” (2012). In “Bel Air”, Holmes interprets Philip Banksthe patriarch of the family.
- Cassandra Freeman as Vivian
Cassandra is an American actress and writer who started to gain more prominence after participating in series such as “Marvel – Luke Cage” (2016) and “Atlanta” (2016). On the Serie, Cassandra plays the aunt Viviana kind woman who does everything for the good of those she loves.
- Olly Sholotan as Carlton
olly is 24 years old, is a Nigerian-American actor, singer and record producer. He became known after participating in the film “Survive or Die Trying” (2020). Now, he plays the spoiled, attention-grabbing son, Carltoncousin of Will.
- Coco Jones as Hilary
Poop is also 24 years old and is an American actress, singer and dancer. A former Disney Channel actress, she excelled in productions such as “Good Luck Charlie!” (2010), “In the Heartbeat” (2012) and “Senseless!” (2011). In “Bel-Air”, she gives life to the Hilarythe eldest daughter and cousin of the protagonist.
- Akira Akbar as Ashley
Akira is only 15 years old, and despite being the youngest of the cast, she has one of the biggest franchises in cinema on her resume, having played the youngest version of Monica Rambeau (Lashana Lynch), in “Captain Marvel” (2019). In “Bel-Air”, as it could not be different given her age, she is the youngest of the family Banks, Ashley.
- Jimmy Akingbola as Geoffrey
Jimmy is a British actor who has established himself in television, theater and film productions. His latest hit was the British sitcom “Kate & Koji” (2020) and now Jimmy interprets Geoffreythe family’s English butler Banks.
- Jordan L. Jones as Jazz
Jordan is 29 years old and is best known for his roles in the productions: “Snowfall” (2017), “The Rookie” (2018) and “NCIS: Los Angeles” (2009). He had his mother’s support Ptosha Storey to face the future on television, as she is also an actress and has participated in several shows and TV shows. In “Bel-Air”, he plays Jazzbest friend of Will.
- Simone Joy Jones as Lisa
Simone is a 23-year-old American actress and musician who grew up in North Carolina and has excelled in productions such as “Anti-Heroes” (2011) and “The Chair” (2021). she plays smooth in the new series of Star+, the love interest of Will.
“Um Maluco no Pedaço” was shown from 1990 to 1996, and now, all six seasons are available on HBO Max and Globoplay. Meanwhile, “Bel-Air” continues with all episodes available on Star+.
