Kristen Stewart didn’t know what “Crimes of the Future” was about until its Cannes premiere; understand – Disclosure / Neon

Kristen Stewart (“Spencer”) made a revelation during a press conference on Tuesday (24), which definitely no one expected. Present at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival to honor the premiere of the new film by David Cronenberg“Crimes of the Future”, in which she is present in the main cast, the actress said that she had no idea what the film was about until she saw it at the event.

“I told him I had no idea what the movie was about, but I was so curious and maybe we could find out.”he said Stewart (via insider). The actress added that the confusion over the film remained with her even during filming, but she loved the gory scenes it brought out thanks to her role as a clandestine plastic surgeon.

“We actors spend every day after work thinking, ‘What the hell are we doing?’ So I watched the movie last night and it all became very clear to me.”he confessed. “It’s very revealing and it feels like you’re cutting organs while doing something, and if there’s not that feeling then it’s not worth it.”completed Kristen. The 32-year-old actress added that she “love” the movies of David Cronenberg and “can’t believe” that she managed to star in “Crimes of the Future”.

Check out the film’s synopsis: “A deep dive into the not-so-distant future where humanity is learning to adapt to its synthetic environment. This evolution moves humans beyond their natural state and into a metamorphosis, which alters their biological makeup.”

Besides Stewartthe list is also made up of Viggo Mortensen (“Captain Fantastic”), Léa Seydoux (“007 – No Time to Die”), Scott Speedman (“Grey’s Anatomy”), Yorgos Karamihos and Nadia Litz.

“Crimes of the Future” will make its world premiere at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival, which takes place from May 17 to 28 in France. Following its stint at the event, the film hits theaters on June 3.
