Production tells the story of the first boat trip around the world
Prime Video released this Tuesday (25) the first trailer of the series “Without Limits”, starring Rodrigo Santoro and Álvaro Morte. The actors will play, respectively, Fernão de Magalhães and Juan Sebastián Elcano.
The series tells the story of the first ever completed round-the-world boat trip, coinciding with the 500th anniversary celebration of the expedition.
In all, there will be six episodes of 40 minutes each, with scenes shot between Spain and the Dominican Republic. Simon West (“Lara Croft: Tomb Raider”) is the production director.
Read the synopsis: “Led by the Portuguese Fernão de Magalhães (Santoro), 239 sailors left Sanlúcar de Barrameda (Cádiz, Spain) on August 20, 1519. Three years later, only 18 sailors returned, seriously ill from starvation, on the only ship that survived the voyage, captained by Spanish sailor Juan Sebastián Elcano (Death). They traveled 14,460 leagues, heading west, completing the circumnavigation of the world; an almost impossible mission that sought to find a new way to the ‘spice islands’ and that ended up changing the history of humanity by proving that the Earth is round. This feat forever transformed commerce, the economy, astronomy and knowledge of the planet, being considered one of the greatest achievements in the history of mankind.“

“Without Limits” debuts on July 8 in the Amazon Prime Video catalogue.
