Filmmakers such as Juliana Rojas, Grace Passô and Cao Hamburger closed a partnership with Globo
Globo Filmes announced this Wednesday (25) an agreement that will move the national industry for the next 3 years. In an interview with American magazine Varietya head by Globo Films, Simone Oliveiraconfirmed that the company has signed 20 new Brazilian film contracts for the period from 2022 to 2025.
The total investment is 50 million reais. Among the acquisitions are feature films by names such as Zelito Viana and Cao Hamburgeras well as new and award-winning filmmakers such as Beatriz Seigner and Juliana Rojas. Also noteworthy are the names of Jefferson De, Grace Passô and Sabrina Fidalgo.
Among the projects announced are “Two Summers and One Eternity”, by Sandra Kogut; “Viva Marilia”, by Zelito Viana; “Deaf Loves 1500”, by Grace Passô; “Carolina” from Jefferson De; “The Lonely Flamingo” by Beatriz Seigner; the comedy “Tô de Graça, o Filme”, by César Rodriguesand the continuation of the children’s franchise “DPA”.
“We are trying to have more diversity in our list of projects. We have some very commercial films based on Globo IPs like ‘DPA4’ and art films with rising talent and acclaimed directors.”, said Simone Oliveira, during the Cannes Film Festival. “We want to make relevant films, whether commercial or arthouse, and ensure that they really impact movie theaters, as well as other windows.”.
