MTV announced that the actor, comedian and musician Jack Black will be honored with the Comedy Genius award at the 2022 MTV Movie & TV Awards. Vanessa Hudgens airs on Sunday, June 5th at 9pm on MTV and also on Pluto TV.
Black is the fifth artist to receive the award, which celebrates unparalleled contributions to the world of comedy, providing a major influence through his work and transforming the genre at large. With that, the comedian joins the select list, which has Melissa McCarthy (2016), Kevin Hart (2015), Will Ferrell (2013) and Sacha Baron Cohen (2021).
This year, “Spider-Man: No Return Home” is the leading nomination at the 2022 MTV Movie & TV Awards. Tom Holland and Zendaya competes in seven categories and this is not the only work of the actress that stood out in the awards. HBO’s “Euphoria” series is up for six awards.
Among the main nominees are also “Batman”, “RuPaul’s Drag Race”, “Selling Sunset” and “Summer House”. “Inventing Anna”, “Moon Knight”, “Pam & Tommy”, “Project Adam”, ” The Dropout” and “The Lost City” are nominated for the MTV Movie & TV Awards for the first time.
