Members of the Ukrainian group Kalush Orchestrathe winners of the final edition of the Eurovision Song Contest, decided sell the iconic trophy of the contest to purchase drones available by the army against the Russian invasion of their country.
As reported by the band’s official page on the social network Facebook, through an online auction the group got the total $ 900,000. And the band itself shared auction details via social networks.

Psiuk, Ihor Didenchuk, MC KylymMen, Tymofii Muzychuk, Vitalii Duzhyk and Sasha Tab, members of the group, said the money will go to Serhiy Prytula Charitable Foundationan organization assisting the Ukrainian army.
As reported by local Ukrainian agencies, the money proceeds will go to the purchase three PD-2 drone types to fight Russian troops continuing their invasion of Ukraine.
The three drones the winning band wants to buy, according to the UKrspec Systems website, are for military use because they have anti-interference technology and are designed to perform surveillance tasks: they can take aerial images, inspections and search and rescue as well.

The Kalush Orchestra won the Eurovision 2022 festival with their song “Stephanie”And was awarded the grand prize at a gala held at the Olympic Palace in Turin, Italy.
After interpreting the song where they got the glass microphone, the winning band in a heartfelt message called for “help” for their country, for the city of Mariupol and for the soldiers buried in Azovstal.

Ukrainian President Volodomir Zelenski himself made a video before the event and assured that “Europe, vote the Kalush Orchestra. Let’s support our countrymen! Let’s support Ukraine.”

Before the Eurovision grand prize draw, the Ukrainian band warmed up its Facebook machines with the lottery for the whole of Europe. The prize is to win the original pink hat worn by the band’s singer, Oleh Psiuk at each performance.
More than 31,000 people from 56 countries participated in the lottery, buying tickets priced at $ 5. So. the total collection reached $ 370,000, which was also donated by the Kalush Orchestra to Serhiy Prytula.
