Filmmaker revealed that he already has a project “idea” for the star duo
David Cronenberg revealed that he has ambitious plans to reunite a Hollywood darling duo in his next film. In an interview with the World of Reel website, the filmmaker revealed his desire to put the stars of “Twilight”, Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinsontogether on the scene again.
“It was Robert who really introduced me to Kristen. They developed beautifully, separately, as actors. Making art films and successfully carrying it forward. Kristen and I had a great time and Rob and I had a great time. For me, yeah, I can definitely think of a movie, or idea, that would be great to have them together.” stated.
“I don’t want to get into that because it wouldn’t be my next movie, however it can be problematic as fans can expect a certain type of relationship and that would get in the way of creating new characters for them. So I have a weird feeling that might be problematic, so it’s just theoretical for now.”added the director.
Cronenberg previously directed Robert Pattinson in 2012’s “Cosmopolis” and was recently at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival to promote his new body horror film “Crimes of the Future,” which will feature Kristen Stewart in the role of Timlin.
Pattinson and Stewart brought the couple to life Edward Cullen and Bella Swan in the supernatural novel of the “Twilight Saga”, from 2008 to 2012. Over five films, the duo adapted for the big screen the story of a young teenager who fell in love with a vampire.
