Coldplay broke all records by selling 9 River Stadiums, with over 550,000 tickets sold within hours. Argentina’s fanaticism for Coldplay has exceeded all expectations.

The nine dates will be October 25, 26, 28 and 29 and November 1, 2, 4, 5 and 7 at River Plate Stadium.

Thus, the group led by the British Chris Martin equaled the historical record of convocation power in Argentina, which until today was in the hands of Ruggero Waters. As you may recall, the former Pink Floyd did 9 shows at the Monumental de Núñez in 2012.

Produced in Argentina by DF Entertainment, the world tour that takes musicians to South America is part of the Music Of The Spheres Tour.

Visits on the rise

Coldplay maintain a special relationship with Argentine fans, which began with their first visit in 2007 to the Gran Rex Theater and strengthened in 2010 when they first performed at the River.

The band returned to the country in 2016 on the occasion of the opening of their latest world tour “A Head Full of Dreams” which took place at the Estadio de La Plata, a place that they also chose for its closure a year later. It was in La Plata that the singer surprised by singing a version of the Soda Stereo hit, of light music.

For his part, Chris Martin was virtually present at the recent farewell tour of Soda Stereo, with his interpretation from the screens of of light musicwhile the music was performed by Zeta Bosio and Charly Alberti with their support band.

care of the environment

Music tours are traditionally quite bad for the environment. One study found that in the UK alone, concerts and live performances generate 405,000 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions each year, while a 2019 report found that the average touring DJ has double the impact of even the ‘ super emitters “that fly frequently around the world: they emit 35 tons of carbon dioxide per year.

For their new tour, however, Coldplay are prioritizing the environment, guided by three key principles: reduce, by reducing the tour’s carbon footprint by 50%; Reinvent, support new green technologies; and Restore, funding nature and technology-based sustainability projects.
