Chris Hemsworth (“The Rescue”) took to social media to announce that filming for “Furiosa,” the prequel to “Mad Max: Fury Road,” has begun.

The actor posted on his Twitter account an image of the clapperboard used behind the scenes of the production and declared: “A new journey in the Mad Max saga begins”. Check out:

The star of “Thor: Love and Thunder” was cast to play a role he’s never played before, that of a great villain. According to the producer PJ Voetenthe new film in the franchise will have more drama than persecution.

The film will show the youth of Angrybefore the events featured in “Fury Road”. Anya Taylor-Joy (“The Queen’s Gambit”) has joined the cast, replacing Charlize Theron (“Scandal”) in the lead role.

The 2015 feature is set in a post-apocalyptic world, where Max Rockatansky (Tom Hardy) believes that the best way to survive is not to depend on anyone. However, he is captured by rebels at the behest of Immortan Joe and finds himself involved in a deadly war started by the Furious Empress (theron), who tries to save a group of girls. When a chase begins behind the group, he realizes that the best way to escape imminent death is to agree to help. Angry.

“Mad Max: Fury Road” was a critical and public success. The film grossed $375.6 million at the box office and was nominated for ten Academy Awards, including Best Picture, taking home six statuettes.

“Furiosa” has been delayed and is set to open in theaters on May 24, 2024.
