Film about the origin of Buzz Lightyear hits theaters on June 16
The pre-sale of “Lightyear” tickets opened this Thursday (2), at 00h, and will be sold at the physical and digital box offices of the exhibiting cinemas. The movie that inspired the toy Andy in the “Toy Story” franchise will be available in 2D and 3D formats, starting on June 16th.
“Lightyear” is a science fiction adventure that follows the legendary space ranger, Buzz Lightyear, after being abandoned on a hostile planet 4.2 million light-years from Earth, alongside his commander and crew. While buzz tries to find a way back home through space and time, a group of ambitious recruits and the charming robot cat for companion, Sox, join the hero. To complicate the situation, Zurgan imposing presence, and his army of ruthless robots, arrive on the planet with a mysterious commitment.
The film features the English voices of Chis Evans (“Captain America: Civil War”) as the protagonist, Use Fertilizer as your commander and best friend Alisha Hawthorneand Peter Sohn as Sox. Keke Palmeras Izzy Hawthorne; Taika Waititias Mo Morrison; Dale Soulesas Darby Steel; and James BrolinO Thanos from the latest Avengers movies, such as Zurgcomplete the team.
Already in Brazil, Marcos Mion lends voice to buzz. Adriana Pissardini, César Marchetti, Flora Paulita, Henrique Reis and Lucinha complete the national roster.
Michael Giacchino (“Ratatouille”) takes over the “Lightyear” soundtrack, while Angus MacLane (“Finding Dory”) takes over the direction of the project. The film’s original soundtrack will be available on the same day as its premiere.
