Game-inspired live-action series arrives on Netflix in July
Promoting its new live-action series, inspired by the “Resident Evil” game franchise, Netflix has shared eight never-before-seen footage from the production. Full of mystery and terror, the photos were passed on by the Entertainment Weekly on their social networks, last Thursday (1).
“Based on one of the most successful survival horror games of all time, ‘Resident Evil’ will tell a new story from two timelines: in the first, 14-year-old sisters Jade and Billie Wesker move to New Raccoon City, a mechanical and corporate city that imposes itself on them at the very height of adolescence. As time passes, Jade and Billie realize that the stone jungle is more than that and discover that their father may be hiding dark secrets capable of destroy the world”describes the synopsis of the new story.
“In the second chronology, more than ten years later, the Earth has less than 15 million inhabitants and more than 6 billion monsters: people and animals infected by the T-virus. Jade, now 30 years old, struggles to survive in this new world while haunted by secrets from the past that involve her sister and father”completes the text.

Lance Reddick (“John Wick”) was cast to play Albert Weskerone of the most iconic characters in gaming. Ella Balinska (“The Panthers”), Tamara Smart (“Horror Club”), Siena Agudong (“No Good Nick”), Adeline Rudolph (“Chilling Adventures of Sabrina”) and Paola Nunez (“Queen of the South”) round out the series’ cast. Andrew Nabb (“Supernatural”) will be the showrunner from the series.
“Resident Evil” hits Netflix on July 14.
