One month before the debut, Susana Giménez sold out tickets for “Piel de Judas”

Theatrical debut of Susana Gimenez with leather of Judas, in Uruguay, it is only July 15; however, the tickets to see the diva in the comedy with which she will perform at the Enjoy in Punta del Este are already sold out.

Within hours, all the seats put up for sale for Susana’s first performance on Friday 15 July were sold. The guest will perform on Fridays and Saturdays at 9pm, on the main stage of that space in the seaside resort.

This is the second time Susana has performed this piece, since she did it in 2015, in Buenos Aires, at Lola Membrives and with great success. That debut had the extra spice of what it meant for her to return to the stage after 24 years without doing theater. Directed by Arturo Puig, leather of Judas it was then seen by more than 150 thousand viewers.

Now in Uruguay

Based in Uruguay, Su will now be accompanied on stage by a cast led by Antonio Grimau, Julieta Nahir Calvo, David Masajnik, Patricia Álvarez and Sebastián Slepovich.

Both Grimau and Masajnik were already part of the play when it was presented in Buenos Aires. For her part, Nahir Calvo, who was recently Valentino’s mother, was the last to attend rehearsals for the show.

This time it will not be Puig to direct Susana in her theatrical debut in Uruguay, but the direction will be entrusted to Gustavo Yankelevich, also the producer of the opera.

In this French comedy written by Pierre Barillet and Jean Pierre Gredy, Giménez once again plays Marion Bruker, a very lively woman, wife of an arrogant musician and womanizer. Susana’s character is that of a woman with a great sense of humor, quick, incisive, straightforward, direct, wise, naive, characteristics that she shares with her diva.

Marion is betrayed by her husband with a younger woman but she, of course, quickly discovers the infidelity and puts together a plot to expose him. In 2015, when she played her character in Buenos Aires, in a version adapted by Fernando Masllorens and Federico González del Pino, she Susana received the ACE award for best comic actress.

Susana Giménez’s announcement of this theatrical season in Punta del Este began with controversy when host Jorge Rial assured, from her radio cycle, that Susana would do badly with the show in Uruguay. The diva responded harshly by announcing a trial against the journalist.

However, as soon as the tickets went on sale, they sold out within hours. So much so that, from Enjoy, they announced that a new function has been enabled for Sunday 17 July.

“Due to the successful sale of the first function of leather of Judas in Enjoy Punta del Este, a show that will start on July 15 and will be performed by Susana Giménez, a new function will be enabled for Sunday July 17 (the eve of the holidays) “, says the statement.

The main hall of Enjoy has more than 400 seats and the price of tickets varies from 60 to 100 dollars, depending on the location. According to production plans, Susana will continue with the features of this comedy until September, when she will face other television commitments previously made.
