Close to the all-time record of the Stones
Since Coldplay dates began to fill up, statisticians had speculated that he could break the limit of multiple gigs in the same stadium tour with the largest capacity in Argentina.
Now that it has finally happened, it is worth remembering another ranking that has been less close in recent days: that of the groups that have visited the Monumental de Nuñez several times if we add other visits to the country. For example, to these ten Coldplay shows we should add one more from 2010, as part of the tour Live the life.

Even with that date, the London-based group failed to exceed 12 recitals of The rolling stones into the river. Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and company broke five dates between February 9-16, 1995, during their first visit to the country.
About 350,000 people are estimated to have enjoyed that band’s debut with i Voodoo room tourr. But their Satanic Majesties returned two more times to the Monumental. In 1998 they gave another five concerts with the tour Bridges to Babylon; and in 2006 they filled two more with the presentation of the album Bigger bang.

At the time, Pop Art – the tour’s production company – and Waters’ manager were surprised at how quickly the first two concerts sold out.
Dates have been added as much as possible, resulting in unprecedented success: 448,150 seats sold and a net inflow of $ 38 million. For the nine concerts, Waters received a fee of $ 15.7 million.

Soda Stereo, the most monumental place
Gustavo Cerati, Zeta Bosio and Charly Alberti closed Soda Stereo in 1997 with a small continental tour. The farewell tour included his first River Plate stadium on September 20 of that year.

That recital included 27 songs, guest musicians and culminated with the mythical thanks total while the latest chords of of light music. And he closed a stage that left a legacy of nine albums, and an infinite number of national rock classics that were part of the 80s and 90s soundtrack.
But the trio would climb Monumental again ten years later with the tour you will see me returnfrom which they established the record of consecutive performances at the local level: there were six concerts distributed between 19 October and 21 December.
Soda largely leads the local historical ranking of the presences in the river. Only Los Piojos comes close to that record with 4 (not counting another 3 shows as part of Quilmes Rock). They are followed by several bands such as Serú Girán, Patricio Rey and Los Redonditos de Ricota, La Renga and Los Fabulosos Cadillacs, among others.
