his character inside the first of us, the Telefe strip, attracted attention as soon as it appeared on the screen. Rocío Gómez Wlosko plays Uma, the teenage daughter of Santiago, the fictional character of Benjamín Vicuña, and marks her television debut.
Thus, with a new, fresh and self-confident attitude, he entered the story by sharing on an equal footing with the rest of the protagonists: in addition to Vicuña, Paola Krum, Damián de Santo, Luciano Castro, Jorgelina Aruzzi and Mercedes Funes. However, Rocío had never done a strip or anything on television.
“Working with them during the eight months that the recordings last year was an incredible experience,” says Rocío. “It was twelve hours a day; I had no experience in television and less in strips, so it was a great learning experience.”

Rocío had already done several commercials and for the character of First… was chosen by a casting. She was in the midst of a pandemic when she posted a video in which she was seen performing some scenes from the strip. “I sent it and I forgot it. And after two months they called me. They hadn’t given me a lot of information nor did I know anything about the cast. Only then did I find out it was for this prime time project, “she says.
In the fiction she plays a 16-year-old teenager, although in real life she is 24. “Despite the fact that Uma is younger, she still gives me a small face and attitude. To put it together, I went back to my teenage years a bit even though I’m still playing and I’m also a little girl, “she admits.
TV, a crash course
Although she had no television experience, Rocío has a background as an actress: he studied at EMAD and at the Hugo Midón school, among other spaces. “It is important to train, but then you learn a lot more with practice. Shooting the strip was a crash course in everything“, He says.
Her vocation as an actress stems from a family tradition: his father is the actor Bicho Gómez and his mother, Viviana Wlosko, is a choreographer and dancer. “I grew up in that environment and it was quite logical for me to move towards art. I chose this path from a very young age and they have always supported me, acting is really something that appeals to me,” she explains.
“Secret” casting.
When he went to the casting for the Telefe strip he said nothing about his relationship with the comedian. “I didn’t want any pressure, I was one more. When I stayed, I told them they knew and everything was clear and everything was fine.” Her father also did not know about the casting and found out when Rocío was chosen to be part of the cast.

El Bicho Gómez and Rocío have already worked together several times but, so far, she has only been in the production of a few shows of the comedian. “I’d love to act with my dad again,” she says. “He is a very complete artist that I admire and he also amuses me a lot”.

For Rocío, the plot of First…It has several interesting twists, such as the fact that one of its protagonists, Santiago, has a terminal illness. “You know what’s going to happen, but a lot of things happen in between and it’s nice to see how it builds.”
On the other hand, the father / daughter relationship his character has with Vicuña’s is also central to the story. “There are a bond of trust and freedom between them that I think is very nice to convey as a message. I was raised that way and I like being able to tell it from fiction as well. “
After the impact generated by the first of usMany doors open professionally for Rocío. But she prefers to keep her feet on the ground. “In this profession you have to learn to handle frustration and the ups and downs“he says.” But luckily things are appearing.

With some experience in independent theater, Rocío is finishing the third season of The infinity of the parts, the show he presents on Wednesdays, at the Nün theater, hall of Villa Crespo, while recording a new series. “But I can’t say anything about that project yet,” she adds.
Regarding her first television appearance, Rocío assures that it is difficult for her to see herself on screen. “I still do that because she helps fix things,” she admits. “And also because I love seeing my colleagues and discovering everything that is done behind the scenes to finish completing the product. A whole series of details that, while working, you are unable to appreciate and it is very important to continue learning” .
