Directed by Sophie Deraspe, the Quebec series Black beast was acquired by Olympusat, a media company that specializes in the acquisition, distribution and production of television works for Spanish -speaking and English -speaking networks.
The series will be shown in the United Kingdom, Spain, South Africa, Mexico and in all Latin American countries.
These territories were added to the United States, Norway, Australia, France and all French -speaking countries.
Black beast is Sophie Deraspe’s first television work, which was noticed in cinema specifically in Antigonewho was originally chosen to represent Canada in racing for the Oscars in 2019.
Launched on Séries Plus in March 2021, the six -episode series chronicles the consequences of the irreparable works committed by Jérémy (Zakary Auclair), a teenager who laid down his own life, leaving the mystery to his motive.
Isabelle Blais and Sophie Cadieux play Jérémy’s mother and the psychiatrist-coroner who oversees the investigation into the tragedy.
Black beast received 15 Gemini Award nominations, earning a total of 5 trophies.
